Control Gear
This section contains many products which are neede to run either fluorescent tubes or what are called discharge lamps, these are the SON (sodium) Metal Halide and Mercury lamps. You will find a wide range of options so if you are unsure please call us we have people who are very experienced in maintenance of lighting installations
Fluorescent control gear can be "switch start" i.e. with copper windings and a starter in the circuit or it can be" Electronic" with no starter in the circuit. All of the high frequency fittings have electronic control gear which is why they come on instantly and do not flicker or strobe
Ignitors are required for all discharge lamps except mercury lamps which work in a different way. We are always happy to help if you need advise selecting the correct ignitor
