Shatterproof Bulbs

Shatterproof bulbs are usually used in the food industry to prevent broken glass getting into food. The EU regulations require use of protective coated lights and lamps in order to make sure no foreign body gets into food.

How is it done? The shattershield polycarbonate is put in the tube using 2 end-caps. The pins of the tube can extrude the caps and are placed into a fitting. If an accident happens with the lamp, the glass stays within the plastic covering.

This type of light gets to temperatures of over 220 degrees. The shatterproof formulation will maintain the protection while withstanding surface temperatures of the bulb.

The Triphosphor fluorescent lamps lasts twice as long as standard fluorescent lamps while giving out 10% more light.

In this section: Shatterproof Lamps, Commercial Lamps offer a range of high quality shatterproof bulbs designed to provide the highest level of protection for the food and associated industries, public areas and other specialised applications.
