Home Office

A study in the home requires a mixture of different types of lighting. There should be ambient light as well as focused task light to prevent eyestrain.

The very first thing to use is the natural light. If it is possible, use the natural source of light while working as it is the best for your eyes. You might want to use Venetian or hanging blinds. They will allow you to control the level of lighting in your study.

For tasks such as reading or writing, the light should fall on the paper. If you work with a computer, only the keyboard should be lit, not the screen. The best solution seems to be a task light. It should be positioned hidden from view.

This kind of light should be combined with ambient light. In order to avoid reflections on a monitor, use uplighters. They will also wash the ceiling and walls with light.
