Stock Situation Of 100 Watt Bulbs
Posted on January 16, 2009 @ 11:17 am [Comments (0)] Well, what a couple of weeks its been! The story so far… We have been let down by 2 suppliers now. Both who promised us deliveries and only part of one has actually appeared. The first point I want to make is that the 100watt light bulb is still in production - so dont panic too much. We will be getting new stocks but these are some weeks away as it seems like the UK’s supply has been used up in the space of 2 weeks! The only reason for the delay is the massive demand for bulbs - not that they arent being made anymore. We may get stock in more quickly if we can find them but we dont like to make promises we cant keep. If you want to order 100watt lamps please do and we will keep your order until we can dispatch. If you pay with a card (ie not paypal) we do not take any money until the day we dispatch. If anything changes we will update the news blog! Of course the low energy alternatives are available if appropriate for you - anything 20 watts or over is a good equivalent to an 100w lightbulb. I myself use the giant helix in daylight and I love it! Of course lighting is very personal
100 watt light bulbs demand is pushing up prices.
Posted on January 14, 2009 @ 2:47 pm [Comments (0)] We have held our prices for ordinary light bulbs up until today but we have been notified by the factories that due to unprecedented demand they are putting up their prices, reluctantly we have had to follow suit.

Posted on January 8, 2009 @ 1:49 pm [Comments (2)] Just to confirm, there is no need to panic. We have a wide range of 100 watt light bulbs in our Online store including:
The ban on selling traditional incandescent 100 watt light bulbs was brought in by Gordon Brown in 2007 as part of the governemnt’s commitment to reduce the UK’s amount carbon dioxide emmisions and help reach climate change targets. However, the ban is voluntary, so although it may not be long before 100 watt light bulbs disappear completely from the high street, we will still be stocking the for some time yet. Production of 100 watt light bulbs is not due to cease in the EU until September 2009, so we will be stockpiling as many of them as we can between now and then. So you can rest assured that until such time as the ban becomes compulsory, you will have no problems getting your 100 watt light bulbs from Commercial Lamp Supplies. If you have any questions or want to discuss bulk orders of 100 watt light bulbs, please contact us on 01822 860110, or email us at: sales@commercial-lamps.co.uk.
Change of delivery Company, we are now using UPS.
Posted on January 7, 2009 @ 11:37 am [Comments (2)] We have replaced City link with UPS for our deliveries, City link were damaging some packages in transit before Christmas and we cannot have our customer’s disappointed with broken light bulbs. We always replace them so you don’t lose out but it’s hardly satisfactory. UPS have vans with racks in them so the drivers don’t stand on the parcels, which is what seemed to be happening with City link.
