Low energy security lights.
Posted on November 28, 2007 @ 11:33 am [Comments (0)]

We have installed 8 of these in our own security lights; we were using 500 watt lamps in most of them, even though they were really more powerful than we needed, reducing them to the 24watt low energy version was quite a dramatic step.
I am pleased to say that the results are excellent.
Obviously they are not as powerful, but the light level is fine we can see perfectly well and need no more light than they provide and they fire up instantly on the PIRs to deter intruders.
We have reduced our energy consumption from 2800 watts to just 194 watts with no real loss of amenity other than greatly reducing the light spillage we were causing.
The running cost is reduced from 33 pence per hour to 2.1 pence per hour.
Also I know I won’t have to get the ladders out to replace failed lamps for a very long time.
This is an excellent product and I am very pleased that we are the first to have it available on the web.
They offer an excellent option for those genuinely interested in reducing their energy use.
Now we are happy with their performance they are available on the web site under security lights.

Security light dreams answered.

Low energy security lighting has not been possible, the need for instant light and working with photocells and PIRs has meant only the old filament lamps were usable.
Today we received a new low energy lamp which deals with all of these issues and solves them all, finally we have a long life low energy secuity lamp which lights instantly and will work perfectly with photo cells and PIRs (movement sensors)
It is brilliant I have not been so excited by a product since the infra red patio heaters came out, they are stunning the first ones are being fitted in our own security lights right now, we should have them for delivery within the next few days.
I almost forgot the best bit, they fit in your existing fittings, they just replace your exisitng filament bulb, no wiring or messing about needed just open the front take the old lamp out and put the new low energy one in its place and the job is done.
Absolutely top product we couldn’t believe how fast and bright they are exactly the same as the filament lamp, we would rate them at 150 to 200 equivalent but the light is whiter so they appear brighter but they only burn 24 watts, they have rated life of 8000 hours which is about twelve times the life of a filament lamp.
I can’t wait to see them on in our car park.

Downlighter low energy spot lamp and firehood combinations.
Posted on November 19, 2007 @ 11:34 am [Comments (0)]

The all purpose 50 mm down lighter combined with a low energy megaman GU10 11 watt lamp is one of our best selling items.
If you have the normal filament GU10 twist and lock downlighters you are using a lot of energy and most of it is wasted in producing heat rather than light.
With the megaman low energy version you are only burning 11 watts rather than 50 watts so you have a very worthwhile energy saving of 78% (if we could do that with your car you’d be very happy)
Over the life of the lamps which is 15000 hrs approx the saving is very substantial, plus you will not be buying replacement lamps on a regular basis as you do now.
The only downside is that the low energy lamps will probably stick out of the front of your existing down lighters as they are about an inch longer, you might be lucky and they will fit but if not you may have to change the fitting.
For this reason we are offering a package which includes a new down lighter fitting and low energy lamp in a choice of wattages and also a fire hood to make sure you comply with the latest regulations on fire protection, you can chose not to have the fire hood if you don’t need them.
