The first enquiries for menage lighting have come in as is normal at this time of year.
We have a simple but effective system for analysing the requirement and a tried and tested solution to most problems.
We don’t supply the poles as most people have access to old telphone poles and the cost of transport of p[oles is prohibitive.
We do design supply the floodlights fitting kits and cable if required.
Please call us to discuss you needs whether it is for flat work or jumping it is impotant to know what the use is to be as the lighting has to be different.

Halloween green bulbs
Posted on August 24, 2006 @ 10:09 am [Comments (0)]

Halloween is approaching, well it will be soon, and last year we were inundated with orders for green lamps for Halloween parties and we ran out well before the day.
This year we have lots in stock so we shouldn’t let anyone down.
If you might need the light string to go with them, which we call Festoons, then please order early as they are virtually made to measure and take a few days to deliver.

energy saving and dimming

Energy saving lamps are very hard to dim, you can do it with long fluorescent tubes but the fittings are very expensive, there are some compact low energy bulbs which do claim to dim but in reality they just shut down one half of the lamp, not very subtle.
If you have low voltage downlighters, in your kitchen for instance, you can knock 40% of your energy burn by changing to the Philips high efficiency low voltage lamps.
They fit perfectly, produce exactly the same amount and texture of light but use only 30 watts instad of 50 watts to do so, they also last much longer, about 5 times as long so they are good value as well.
You can of course dim them with your existing setup.

Lamp change pole.

Lamp changing poles are very useful if you have SON ,metal halide or mercury lamps in hard to get at locations, the one we import from the USA extends to 7 metres and has a sprung loaded basket on the end to grasp and hold the lamp while you unscrew it, obviously you can also fit a new lamp in the same way.
It is high quality fibreglass with positive clips which firmly locate each section.
They are expensive but can save a great deal on cherry pickers and provide a way of changing lamps without the use of a ladder.

Energy efficient lighting.

If you haven’t changed your domestic lighting over to low energy you are wasting a lot of money.
Each one you change will save you about £14.00 per year on your electricity bill.
They are not ugly any more they are hard to tell from ordinary bulbs.
We recommend Philips branded low energy lamps they are the Rolls Royce of the bunch, they fire up quickly, the stand the test of time without going yellow which happens to the cheap ones.
We have some very pretty spiral and helix lamps which are ideal low energy replacements for normal candle bulbs.
Spot lights used ot be difficult but with the advent of the Megaman range we can match them all.
If you have those twist and lock mains halogen lamps which keep failing and cost a small fortune we have the answer we have a low energy version that only uses 7 watts in stead of 50 watts they also last for 10 times as long.
The light is different but most people prefer it as it is a whiter light.

Low energy bulbs

Energy saving is very much in vogue at present, the ever increasing energy prices means more and more people are looking to reduce their electricity bills.
We have just moved house and the previous owners had a wierd view of energy saving.
The hot water was on off peak only with no over-ride and so you only had one tank full per day, if it ran out by lunch time you only had cold water for the rest of the day.
Very ruthless energy saving, a fanatic you would think.
Crazily he had filament bulbs and spot lights through the house out each burning 60 or 75 watts, not a low energy lamp in sight.
We changed them all for Megaman low energy spot lights and Philips Ambience and reduced the energy burn by over 75%, a far greater energy saving than only having one tank full of hot water per day.
The added bonus is greatly reduced heat as well as much longer life approx 15 times so we won’t be changing light bulbs very often, which is good because we have much more interesting things to do.
