Some really good LEDs have been added today, a single LED 12volt which is stunning and an amazing colour changing LED with remote control.

LEDs are expensive lighting to purchase but the energy saving and extraordinary long life make LEDs a good investment with electricity prices as they are!

See them in the LED section in the left hand side menu.

As promised we have added the cheapest Philips Low Energy lamps we have ever sold, Philips quality has always come at a price but these are more than テつ」2 cheaper than normal.
We have limited stocks and when theyテ「竄ャ邃「re gone theyテ「竄ャ邃「re gone!

See these in the LOW ENERGY BULBS section in the left hand menu.

Low voltage does not mean Low Energy!!

We get lots of enquiries and orders, thankfully, for 50mm low voltage lamps.
It is a common misconception that these are low energy because they are low voltage -IT IS NOT TRUE!
The 50 and 35mm dichroic lamps are often used in kitchens and for highlighting alcoves and features. They were designed for display lighting, they give a crisp intense light of high quality but even at 12 volts a 50 watt lamp still uses 50 watts of electricity!
The Philips Masterline ES is one good alternative, you keep the quality of light and uses 40% less electricity, you will find them in the low voltage section.
The Megaman twist and lock reflectors are another choice, these are tiny fluorescent tubes so the light output is more like a fluorescent tube than the dichroic spotlight, they are more of a floodlight than a spotlight. They use 80% less power and pay for themselves, on an average of 8 hours per day, in less than a year, and working on those numbers they should last around 5 years! In following years they are worth テつ」10 off your electricity bill for each one you install and you wonテ「竄ャ邃「t be changing lamps so often.

Why you should use Low Energy Lamps

We all are being hurt by the new electricity prices, low energy light bulbs have been around a long time but they have not always been up to job. Yellowing, not bright enough and very slow starting have made them less popular than they could have been.
Philips make the best ones in our opinion and yes you cannot dim them and yes they don’t start immediately but they are quick enough, bright enough and they don’t yellow prematurely.
The cost savings are enormous! Have a look at the example below.

Here is a cost example for a lamp used 10 hours every day.
Each unit of electricity now costs around 10p.

Ordinary light bulbs cost 0.20p each
60watts for 10 hours for 365 days @ 10p per unit = テつ」21.90 of electricity
Plus 4 light bulbs = テつ」0.80
Total cost = テつ」22.70 for the year and you had to change 3 light bulbs!

Philips Low energy bulbs cost テつ」5.95 each
12 watts for 10 hours for 365 days @ 10p per unit= テつ」4.38 of electricity.
And you are still burning the same light bulb so you have not changed 3 lamps- how much is that worth!
Total cost = テつ」10.33p

So by paying more up front you save テつ」12.73 for each lamp you change! In the first year alone!

So change 5 light bulbs in your house this week and thats テつ」60 off your electricity bill!

Look out for an special offer price next month for Philips Genie 18 watt lamp!

Despite a teething problem of a loose connection Marlene is now happy with her new lights.
Hi Alan

Just to let you know the lamp is fine and working now, your diagram enabled Brian to fix the wire back in where it belonged. Thanks for your help. If we need more lamps we will happily call on your company again.

Kind Regards
Marlene
