Dolphin Motion Lamp
Posted on September 30, 2005 @ 3:56 pm [Comments (0)]

A customer contacted us for a replacement light bulb for his Dolphin Motion Lamp which is sold by Amazon. They also sell a Salt Water Motion Lamp which looks as if it will have the same light bulb.

The lamp was a SES (sometimes called E14) base 12 volts and only 10 watts!

After much searching we found a lamp, in stock, that would do the job!

The time spent on these little jobs is uneconomical but we like to take any challenges our customers give us!

Also this week we have shipped ?10,000 worth of Metal Halide lamps to
Kuwait!

Life here is very varied!

Bring on your challenges!!

NEW PRODUCT LAUNCH 22/09/05
Posted on September 23, 2005 @ 11:13 am [Comments (0)]

NEW PRODUCT ADDED TO THE WEBSITE TODAY.

Have a look at the LED section on the left hand side of the site.

You will find a new 2.2 watt LED Twist & Lock which is almost 30% more powerful than anything we have been able to offer before.

It is a PURE WHITE LED, most LED lights you see in things like torches give quite a blue light, this one doesn’t!

LED lighting is the future of that there is no doubt. In ten years time we expect the technlogy to have overtaken the compact fluorescents ( Low Energy Bulbs) which we promote and sell now.

LEDs have a lifespan 50 times that of a normal light bulb!

If you are not sure about how and where to use this type of lamp please give us a call, we have the knowledge and expertise to help!

We are here from 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday on 01392 446666 and like to talk!
Or send us an e-mail, the address is at the bottom of every page.

Online help button?? Customer feedback please??
Posted on September 21, 2005 @ 4:12 pm [Comments (0)]

We have just seen an online help button on another website and thought it might be useful for our customers.
It works by giving you a button on each page which opens an online chat style box, just like windows messenger, aim or icq, but which only links to our office.
It does not download anything to your computer and gives you the opportunity to type messages to us and get an instant reply!
We think selecting light bulbs can be very hard sometimes as there are so many variables.
Many customers ring us, when they are looking at the website, to ask advice and we are always please to talk.
This system would give our customers another method of communication, for free!
What I am looking for is some customer feedback to help us decide whether or not to offer this service.
The service costs the customer nothing! Now thats unusal these days!
Please drop us an e-mail with your experiences of using an online helper, (Don’t I sound like those annoying presenters on the BBC who keep wanting us to text and e-mail them!) or whether you think it might be a good idea.
All feedback would be very welcome. You will find the e-mail address at the bottom of every page.

Hand Cleaner Unit

Hand disinfection unit.

We have designed, and built a UV hand cleaning unit, it is particularly brilliant because although it doesn’t have any doors no UV light can escape the front of the box.
The unit uses the power of UV light which is well known for sterilising water and even sewerage, we designed it to help cut down on the cross infection problems such as MRSA in hospitals and clinics, it is part of a range of weapons we have devised to help in this field.
Unfortunately selling to the NHS takes a long time, there is a tremendous amount of rigmaroll to go through before anyone will accept a new product.
They all want to shelter behind some approvals commitee, this is why change is so slow, no one wants to take a chance of being wrong.
It’s our fault really, I mean the public, if we didn’t sue at the drop of a hat people would be able to make decisions and not worry that they will be crucified if they make a mistake.

New Product on the website
Posted on September 7, 2005 @ 4:15 pm [Comments (0)]

We have been recycling fluorescents for several years now, long before the laws regarding hazardous waste came into force.

We have had a 6ft TUBEBOX for many years, which has been very popular, and now we have an 8ft “TUBETUBE”!

Many customers still have 8ft tubes which need recycling and until now we have only been able to offer steel boxes.

We don?t recommend 8ft tubes for all but specialist uses, printing companies etc. because of the transportation and recycling problems they have.

The “LAMPTUBE” works the same way as the “LAMPBOX” you buy the service, not the container and when it is full we take it away and supply another one if required along with all the necessary paperwork.

The advantage of the LAMPTUBE is that you can fill any spare space with any shaped fluorescents you may need to recycle and the price is fixed which appeals to many customers.

Coloured 12 volt 50 watt Dichroics
Posted on September 5, 2005 @ 2:07 pm [Comments (0)]

We had an enquiry today for 50 watt 50mm externally coated dichroic spot lamps.

We had to say NO! We don’t like having to say no but here is why:

The 12 volt dichroic is the low voltage spot lamp much favoured by the BBC program “Changing Rooms”.

Although they give a beautiful light which is excellent for displays in jewellers etc. we usually recommend a compact fluorescent for use at home which really are a “LOW ENERGY” product unlike the 12 volt dichroics.

The externally coated 50 watt dichroic gets too hot and the coating can peel off, and there is a possibility of fire risk, which has persuaded us not to sell them anymore. We like our products to last and give good value and so have withdrawn these lamps.

You can still buy the internally coated versions which give a wonderful light! There is also a colour changing 50mm spotlight available in both the 2 pin fitting or the twist and lock, they will be on the website soon!

Megaman light fittings
Posted on September 1, 2005 @ 3:42 pm [Comments (0)]

Today we have added, in the light fittings section, a new fitting for the Low Energy Megaman Gu10 lamp.
We are really pleased to be able to offer them as until now this wonderful lamp has protruded out of standard GU10 fittings. The GU10 is the one you twist to lock in place! (aka. Twist and Lock lamps!)
