Welcome to our news section. August 8th 2005.

With the recent increases in electricity prices the focus has been on low energy and energy efficient lighting.

If you haven’t changed your domestic lighting over to low energy you are wasting a lot of money.
Each one you change will save you about £14.00 per year on your electricity bill.

They are not ugly any more they are hard to tell from ordinary bulbs.

We recommend Philips branded low energy lamps they are the Rolls Royce of the bunch, they fire up quickly, the stand the test of time without going yellow which happens to the cheap ones.
We have some very pretty spiral and helix lamps which are ideal for replacing normal candle bulbs.
If you have those twist and lock mains halogen lamps which keep failing and cost a small fortune we have the answer we have a low energy version that only uses 7 watts in stead of 50 watts they also last for 10 times as long.

The light is different but most people prefer it as it is a whiter light.

Low voltages spots and down lighters are not a low energy product!

It has become fashionable to use low voltage down lighters in kitchens and bathrooms, they do use a lot of energy 8 down lighters will burn 400 watts per hour.

We can’t do to much about it but the new Philips Master line Energy saver is a good start.
They produce as much light as the 50 watts but only burn 30 watts so nearly half you can still dim them and they last much longer than ordinary ones.

Over their life they will pay for themselves many times over.
