Description of Ordinary Lightbulb LED

Although not cheap these LED bulbs by Philips are fantastic and really can be used in place of traditional filament lamps - something we haven't been able to say before!

We have seen a lot of cheap LED bulbs but none of them perform as well as they claim to - not so with these lamps. As with many things you get what you pay for and these Philips LEDs not only have great light output they have also matched the colour of traditional filament lamps very well with a pleasant warm white colour.

LED bulbs contain no mercury and do not flicker so are great if you don't like the fluorescent low energy bulbs. They also have a massively long life of 25 000 hours (a filament bulb lasts around 1000 hours) so in a domestic setting they should last over 5 years, all the time saving you a significant amount of energy with the 12 watt bulb replacing a 60 watt filament lamp.

Note: The 12 watt bulb is slightly different from the picture, is has a an orange top to it which looks rather space age but gives the best colour light from an LED bulb that we've seen so far
