Description of Linear T/Halogen Halosaver

The standard linear tungsten halogen lamp has also been taken back to the drawing board and has been improved

This type of lamp is usually seen in Security light fittings as they give an instant high light output.

They are also used in uplighters and as display lights as they also give good colour rendering (i.e. they don't distort the colours)

It's very easy to change to these new lamps - just take out the old lamp and replace it with one of these - no modification is necessary

They come in all the standard lengths and wattages and offer an easy bit of energy saving and a 2000 hour life

The wattage comparisons are as below with the new wattages on the left and the old wattage equivalent on the right:

80 watt = 100 watt old style lamp
120 watt = 150 watt
160 watt = 200 watt
230 watt = 300 watt
400 watt = 500 watt

This is an incandescent light bulb, which is one which produces light by heating a filament in an inert gas. It is not fluorescent so is ideal if you don't get on with them.

The diameter is 12mm

They are either 117mm or 78mm long

They have UV stop glass

The base is called R7s if you want to know!

These are dimmable

The rated life is 2000hrs which is approximately 6 months continuous burn time
