Description of Venture/Parmar Ignitors

There has been a lot of consolidation in the Control gear world and a lot of manufacturers have been swallowed up by the big boys.

The upshot is that there are only a few producers left fortunately they all follow the same route and they all wire up in the same way.

Although the shape may be slightly different the connections will be the same.

These ignitors will work with both SON and Metal Halide lamps.

The only small confusion is with the timed Ignitors, these are smart Ignitors which sense when the lamp has failed and stop trying to strike it, conventional Ignitors just keep on trying until they burn themselves out.

This is why you often fit a replacement lamp and nothing happens and you have to replace the Ignitors as well.

You can prevent this by immediately disconnecting the power as soon as the lamp fails of fit a timed ignitor which will make sure it doesn’t happen.
