Delivery

We aim to deliver next day and use an overnight carrier Amtrak to do this.

Sometimes this is not possible because items are temporarily out of stock or if the order is received too late in the day and the warehouse is very busy.

We offer three grades of carriage, standard by 5.30pm the next day £6.25. A.M. delivery for £ 10.00 and evening up to 8.30 PM which is also £10.00. All of these services will require a signature.

Light bulbs and lighting are our speciality, we supply all types of lamps, lightbulbs, and fluorescent tubes directly to you for your home or your business.

We also give advice on choosing the lamps and tubes which would be best for your lighting needs and provide as much useful information as we can on these pages.

Low energy or energy efficient light bulbs have never been more popular and we offer a complete range of quality products such as candle lamps, spotlights and even outside lighting in low energy and energy efficient forms.
They all comply with the RoHS requirements for low mercury content

We supply mainly the top brands that you will recognise; Philips, Osram, Crompton, GE, and Sylvania as well as less well known names such as:

  • Prolite who make brilliant tungsten halogen lamps amongst other things

  • BLV is a great German company who produce very high quality metal halide lamps. The coloured ones are great for floodlighting your garden with our compact metal halide floodlights

  • Megaman have hit the low energy market like a whirlwind and produce the most comprehensive range of energy efficient lamps we have ever had. From spot lights to golf balls and candles, the range is exceptional, the quality is first class and the reliability excellent. They even have one that is dimmable.

  • Smilight are not so good. They make kitchen lights but no one knows how to get replacement tubes for them, we found someone to make them so you can get them here.

We always aim to deliver next day and use overnight carriers Amtrak to do this.

You have three main weekday options and one week end option.

The first is standard next day for £ 6.25 they have up to 5.30 pm to deliver.

If you are not in they will leave a card telling you they will try again tomorrow.

The second option is an evening delivery, this can be very convenient if there is not normally anyone at home during the day, It costs a little more at £ 10.00 but could save a bit of hassle and it means you get what you want when you want it without any effort.

The third is AM delivery this will be before 12 o’clock at the latest normally earlier; if you lamps are urgently needed this is the way to ensure you do not have to wait around for them.

Finally we have the Saturday AM delivery for items you really need for the weekend and forgot to order, it is expensive at £20.00 but it will get the job done if you are in trouble.

Unfortunately we can no longer offer that standard rates for the Highlands, and offshore islands and so you we see different delivery charges when you enter your postcode, we have fought this as for long a possible, but mounting costs now mean we can no longer resist the inevitable.

Sometimes we cannot achieve our aim of next day delivery because items are temporarily out of stock or if the order is very late in the day and the ware house simply does not have time to pack it.

You will receive confirmation that your order has been despatched by e-mail, it will give you a tracking number so you can see exactly where it is at any time.

We hope the new system meets with you approval any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

We know our prices are competitive (ALL PRICES SHOWN ARE INCLUSIVE OF VAT)
The basic price of each lightbulb is shown at the top of each section; the price will change as you make your selections in the drop down boxes, obviously all of the lamps in each section are not the same price.

Please call us if you are at all unsure of the lamps you want or for advice on what would be the best lamp to use in order to produce the lighting you would like.

We actively encourage our customers to talk to us, we need the web site for you to find us and provide useful information for you to browse at your leisure, but we do like to interact with our customers as we find it helps to ensure you get exactly what you want with the minimum for fuss.

We don't have a call centre; you will get a real live person answering the phones. We are here from 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday and whether you call, email or fax you will get a prompt response and some sensible advice.

We constantly update the web site introducing new lamps and tubes as they become available, but only once we are happy that they are of the correct quality and perform as they should.

There are many lighting products that we can supply that we cannot squeeze on the website without making it unwieldy so if you don't see what you need please call us or e-mail and we will find it for you.
