THIS IS AN LED WHICH COMES IN MANY COLOURS!
These new LED lamps offer a tantalising glimpse of the future this lamp fits all twist and lock fittings and replaces the 50 watt halogen twist and lock lamp.
It offers an extremely long life of approx 11years in normal use (50,000 hours!) and burns only 1.7 watts it seems too good to be true and unfortunately it is, the light level it produces is not really comparable with the 50 watt lamp it replaces.
If it is just accent lighting you're after rather than ambient light then it is fine. The only way to find out is to try one those who have are delighted with them!

The white LED has always been a bit "blueish" but although these are still available by special order the white 1.7 watt LED is really white! The colour definitions for white light are:

WARM WHITE, 2700K,a comfortable with a yellowish white, generally used as ambient lighting.

WHITE, 3000K, the neutral white which we are all used to in kitchen fluorescent lights for example.

COOL WHITE, 4000K, a cleaner crisper light for use where you need to see really well especially for cleaning and inspection purposes.
