An ideal companion for the workshop

I wish we had got these in a few weeks ago! They are great value for money and are a simple way to keep you warm either outside or in a garage or workshop.

A 2kw freestanding heater that heats you - not the air. It has 3 power settings which are selected using a pull cord.

It's simple to assemble - we managed it in about 5 minutes using only a screwdriver and once assembled it is ready to go to work

It has a weighty base for stability but also a tip over safety cut-out in case it gets knocked over

It comes with a usefully long 5 metre power cord with a moulded plug already fitted

We feel it is much safer than a gas heater and has the added advantage that it is totally silent

It has an IPX4 rating which means it is splashproof and safe to use outside (but obviously not in the pouring rain!)

We used to heat our warehouse and packing station with great big gas heaters which were very noisy and smelly and made the packing team feel sick, they would heat upstairs brilliantly the trouble is they were working downstairs.

We then found these fantastic infrared space heaters, they work because they only heat up people, not things or even the air.

They feel like you have your own sun shining on you, the colour is even right.
They work just like the suns rays; the heat passes through your clothes and warms up your skin just like sunbeams do.

They are silent, very safe and produce no fumes.

They come with a lamp so are ready to work straight away once mounted.

This is the infra-red lamp for most patio heaters it is 254mm long, 1300 Watts and 240 volts

It gives off a slightly red light like sunlight as the lamp itself is ruby in colour

I don't think I can say any more than that!

Due to a manufacturing problem we are unable to restock with clear heat lamps until the end of March. We have stock of ruby lamps

This is a combination of the two items below.

I won't repeat all the details, it is just so many people buy both products we thought this would make life easier for you!

These shades are designed to take the SCREW TYPE (E27) heat lamps up to 250watts on the heat lamp page, second item down.

The design of the fitting and metal guard has changed slightly so the actual product sent may vary from the picture

They are primarily designed for animal husbandry purposes, keeping your pets and livestock warm, but several customers have bought them and are using them in catering to keep food warm!

A simple unit that just requires a 13 amp socket to plug into. The comes with 5 metres of cable and 2 metres of chain to hang it with.

The design of the fitting has changed slightly from the picture but the performance is the same

The switched version has a switch (surprisingly enough!) on the top of the unit but is otherwise identical. There are two power positions which give full or two thirds heat.

They should be mounted one metre from floor level.

If you need a shade and a lamp you might find it easier to use the combined option which is further down in this section, you can save a couple of quid at the same time!

These are large filament lamps desiged to produce more heat than light they are extensively used in catering.

You must use the HARD GLASS for food related activities it will not crack when spashed.

All our heat lamps in this section are hard glass.

The ruby reds are ideal for animal husbandry or pet care they provide a gentle warmth without much light to disturb the patient.

The 250 watt is available in bayonet base only in clear. The Ruby 250 watt with a BC base has now been discontinued.

The 300watt and 375watt are only in screw base and not with ruby glass.

If you need a shade and a lamp you might find it easier to use the combined option which is the third item down in this section, you can save a couple of quid at the same time!

The lamps are primarily used for medical purposes, the infra red heat they generate is used to aid healing particularly in the case of joint injury.

We used to be able to get 100 watt ones but they are no longer available. However if you really really want them then give us a call and we will see what we can do!

It can be used to warm objects, animals or people where no light is required or desired!
It works on mains 240/220 volts power and is 250 watts
The base is a standard screw type (aka E27or ES)
Sometimes referred to as a "pig lamp" as they are widely used in pig arcs!

This is a range of lamps dedicated to the production of heat rather than light.

They are used primarily in catering but have many other applications where a heat source is required.

They connect to the electricity supply in strange ways, some just plug in like a normal tungsten tube so have little ceramic ends. Some have metal strips at each end and some have fly leads (wires)

They sometimes have a glass jacket around them and can either be ruby or clear.

If they have a jacket they generally do not have a reflector. The reflector is usually a white strip along the whole back of the actual bulb itself (not in the fitting)

These are American lamps which have a shatterproof coating and come as standard equipment in much American catering equipment.
It has a non standard base you cannot fit anything else.
Commonly found in chip dumps etc.
