This is a combination of two products, the Garden Spike and a 80 watt Par 38 lamp, you can choose the colour of lamp in the drop down menu. There is a discount for a set of 6 in the same menu.

You can string them together very easily and they are waterproof.

A great quality low energy lamp from MEGAMAN to replace the popular Par 38.

Par 38s are often used in garden spike lights, outdoor wall lights and shops for display purposes.

They are a good heavy duty general purpose floodlight, they look a bit like a car headlight.

A normal Par 38 has a rated life of 2000 hours, this one is rated at 10,000 hours!
So yes it costs 5 times as much as a normal Par 38 but it lasts 5 times longer!
So thats 4 lamps that won't fail and have to be changed and, if you are using a normal 80 watt lamp already, this one will give you more light and use a quarter of the, now very expensive, electricity.

With all low energy lamps you have to pay upfront to save in the long term, its sometimes hard to swallow but so are huge electricity bills!

Downside: The only downside is the fact it cannot be dimmed and is not currently available in different colours

Armour flex cable.

Price shown is per metre (for example if you want 4 metres then order a quantity of 4)

As you can see in the picture it is heavy duty three core cable i.e. live neutral and earth.
The heavy duty cable is surrounded by a steel mesh which will prevent all but the most intense attack with a sharp object, but allows the cable to remain quite flexible.
Outside this again is a clear UPC sheath that protects the steel armour and the core from moisture and corrosion.

Some garden lights do not use an earth wire, as the earth of your garden does the job very well; it is where the earth wire goes eventually anyway.

In the ideal world all cables in the garden would be buried to a depth that a garden fork could not reach we know this often not possible or convenient in the domestic setting and so the flexible armoured cable is a very good compromise.

We still insist that you should use an RCD device on every outdoor supply to not do so is extremely foolish, the RCDs are cheap and your or your pet’s lives are not.

We have sourced a good quality festoon harness at last!

For some time we have had samples which did not come up to scratch but these are great!

They take normal bayonet light bulbs either GLS (Ordinary bulbs) or 45mm GOLFBALLS of 25 watts or lower (you need to be careful with the longer festoons as the amperage can build up quite quickly - if in doubt please give us a call for information)

These festoons are suitable for outside use all year round and they come with a weatherproof plug (Its a round 3 pin one - not your usual 3 pin wall plug)

There is a 3 metres of cable before the first lampholder.

We don't supply the lamps with them as everybody wants something different

Coloured, opaque and clear light bulbs are available elsewhere on the website.
