At last an LED lamp that can replace a traditional filament GU10 twist and lock spotlight

It replaces a 35 watt GU10 twist and lock 240 volt reflector (found in many a kitchen ceiling!) and is only 7 watts

Megaman have done a great job in replicating the beam pattern and light levels and amazingly also the warm white colour of the traditional bulb.

We think that this lamp is a viable alternative and is a good place to start if you want to start changing your lighting over to LEDs.

Unlike other LEDs that we supply we think that this one really can be used as ambient lighting as it does not produce a really tight beam of light like so many of its competitors. The colour of the light is also a very good match for the lamp it replaces.

It has a realistic 20,000 hour life (as opposed to 2000hrs) and produces significantly less heat than a filament bulb. LEDs also start instantly so are good if you don't like the current fluorescent low energy replacement lamps

Installing it is very simple - just take the old lamp out and put this lamp in!

The only thing you need to check is that your fitting will take the lamp as it is slightly longer than the filament bulb -it is 74mm as opposed to 53 mm - the diameter is the same at 50mm.

We can supply a fitting that will take this lamp (and many other styles of low energy and other spotlights) if you do need to change your fittings

As always with LEDs, we would suggest trying one lamp to see if you like it

It offers an extremely long life of approx 11years in normal use and burns only 2 watts it seems too good to be true and unfortunately it is, the light level it produces is not really comparable with the 50 watt lamp it replaces.
It is a 240 volt lamp, you do not need a transformer.

If it is just accent lighting you're after rather than ambient light then it is fine. The only way to find out is to try one and see if you like them.

This is amazing! But so is its price!
In ten years time when this costs £20 perhaps we can all have them.
The remote is an on off switch and controls the colours and how they change.
We have had lots of fun playing with them in the office!
The colours go from yellow through orange, red, green, blue to purple!
They can flash, fade strobe or smoothly change!
Great fun! Probably only suited for shop displays and bars in nightclubs etc at this price but it will come down given time.
The best bit is lining ten of them up and the remote controls them all simultaneously!
The lamp needs a GU10 holder but does not need any drivers or transformers.
Additional lamps cost £80+vat. If you do want lots of them give us a call, with lighting volume reduces the price!
Fittings for these lamps

This LED is very white as you can see from the picture!

If you have Tungsten Halogen 12 volt spotlights already these will fit your current downlighters.

You may need to change the transformer if you don't already have constant voltage ones.
You will find them at the bottom of the LED section. You only need one transformer for 5 of these lamps!

This is a 2 watt lamp, your normal low voltage spotlight is 50 watts, but 80% of that is wasted in producing heat!
Led technology creates very little heat, they are the most efficient lamp for changing electricity into light.

To be honest these are best for creating lighting effects, not to replace a main light source.

Saying that they are perfect for hotel corridors (especially because they don't create heat) and will make massive energy savings.

Because they have a average life span of 30,000 hours they will cut down on maintenance time considerably

You could change 30 of the normal dichroics during the lifetime of one of these!

Have fun with your low voltage lighting.
There are four colours availalbe which will fit into your normal 12 volt halogen dichroic fittings.
These are not Tungsten Halogens they use LED technology.
LED is short for Light Emitting Diode, this technology is going to take over the lighting world in the years ahead.
At the moment the amount of light from a small lamp like this is too little but wait a while, they will get better!
If you are not using constant voltage transformers on your current system you will need to change them.

The normal 12 volt dichroic uses 50 watts of electricity these use less than 2 watts!

They are really only suitable to create lighting effects not to replace main light sources.

If "Changing Rooms" was still running they would love them!

This is the 12 volt transformer to use with the 12 volt LEDs above.

If you don't it can shorten their lifespan

You can connect up to 5 LEDs to one transformer, so it only adds about £3 to the price of the lamp.
