These are a great way to make standard office lighting that bit more efficient without any hassle

The amazing thing about these convertors is all you have to do is take out the old tube, remove the starter, put in the convertor (it fits just like a standard tube) and you are done!

No changes to existing wiring

Excellent energy saving - High frequency new generation T5 fitting tubes can offer savings of over 50%

The T5 tubes used in these convertors have an average service life of 20,000 hours which is around twice that of standard tubes

They can be used to replace most T8 and T12 tubes with old switch start (also known as wire wound) control gear also because these are high frequency there is no annoying flickering on start up

No technical knowledge is required to fit these - we changed over our entire office in less than 15 minutes!
They really are very easy to put up

Tubes that go in these fittings

T5 tubes are the newest fluorescent tube available. They have several benefits including increased efficiency (when compared to older T8 tubes), good colour rendering and less lumen reduction as they age. They also have a massively long life at around 20000 hours (or 4.5 years if left on 12 hours a day!)

To confuse things further T5 tubes are available in either High Efficiency (HE) or High Output (HO)

HE tubes are designed for maximum energy saving while HO lamps are designed for maximum light output. You need to decide what it is you want from the fitting to determine which type of tube and therefore fitting is best for you

These are standard lighting battens with High Frequency control gear (high frequency gear means less flicker) and they come with T5 tubes so are ready to light up

The fitting body is only 46mm wide and just 70mm deep

14w HE / 24w HO = 2ft = 576mm
21w HE / 39w HO = 3ft = 876mm
28w HE / 54W HO = 4ft = 1176mm
35w HE / 49w or 80w HO = 5ft = 1476mm

These wire guards made by Crompton (also known as crompack) are designed for use on fluorescent batten fittings in areas such as sports halls or in factories

We have a limited stock of them and they are at a bargain price to clear!

Please note this is just for the wire guard, not the whole fitting!

The direct mount guards are mounted (as you would expect) directly to the front of the batten, the reflector mounted one will fit on a fluorescent batten that already has a symmetric reflector (not an angled one)

They come with all the fixings needed

They have a durable powder coated white paint finish

Recessed light fittings are usually used in suspended ceilings. The picture shows it with its louvre it does not come with one as there are 3 options, see below.

These are the metric versions, imperial (if you have an imperial ceiling these are available only by special order)

Supplied complete with 4 tubes. BUT WITHOUT LOUVRE!

You will need to choose a louvre to suit your needs from the diffuser section below.

PRISMATIC PANELS are a simple flat diffusers widely used in offices and shops.

They are much cheaper than "CAT" style louvres but do the job well!

Make sure you fit them with the diamond patterned side upwards!

They do deteriorate with age but are cheap and easy to replace!

These LOUVRES are suitable for recessed lighting fitted on a suspended or solid ceiling in 600 x 600mm or 600 x 1200mm modules.

The CAT 2 version is especially good where computers are being used but is suitable for any office application.
Cat 2 louvres cut off the light at 45 degrees and direct all the light downwards.

There is a CAT 3 version, available by special order only, for continuous VDU (computer screens to you and me!) suitations such as call centres they have straight blades where as the CAT2 have curved blades.

The LOW BRIGHTNESS version is also popular with shops, it gives a more mellow effect.

These are known as PRISMATIC DIFFUSERS they spread light evenly.
Popular applications are domestic kitchens, offices and schools ( they protect pupils from falling glass if the tube is broken!).
They can be retro fitted, that is fitted to exisiting fluorescent fittings by attaching them to the original cover plate screws.
They can only be ordered in pairs.
